SCCM / ConfigMgr – Tablets going to sleep during Operating System Deployment (OSD)

Recently we ran into the problem that Tablets went to sleep mode during Windows 10 OS deployment. The deployment continued when we struck the touch pad. It was not a model specific issue, as it was the same behavior for Dell and Lenovo Tablets. All other desktop and laptop devices went through the deployment without going to sleep mode.

The Task Sequence already contained a step that sets the power scheme to “High Performance”:


What finally solved it was a step that sets the power scheme timeouts to 0:


We also checked the BIOS settings, installed the latest BIOS update and ensured the latest driver were used. But all tablet devices, e.g. Dell Latitude 5285, kept going into sleep mode.
